Dr. Joseph Kalathiparampil is the Archbishop of the Latin Catholic Archdiocese of Varapuzha. He served as the Secretary of the Pontifical Council at the Vatican, being the first Malayali to hold this position. Previously, he was the Bishop of the Diocese of Kozhikode since 2002. He was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI on February 22, 2011. Dr. Kalathiparampil obtained a doctorate in canon law from Rome.
