MUDr. Karol Džupa, CSc. is a Slovak surgeon, amateur historian, and former politician born on December 1, 1952, in Michalovce, Slovakia. He studied general medicine at the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice. Džupa has authored several publications on nutrition and the history of the Štefan Kukura Hospital in Michalovce. He served as a member of the National Council of Slovakia from 2002 to 2006, representing the Hnutie za demokratické Slovensko party. He previously worked as a director of a hospital and currently practices in Bratislava.
