Vasiliy Aleksandrovich Skakun (born March 18, 1944, in Petrovskoye, Stavropol Krai, RSFSR, USSR) is a former Soviet athlete and coach, honored Master of Sports of the USSR in sports acrobatics since 1973, and the first World Champion in 1974. He is also an honored coach of the USSR (1981), who trained 19 absolute world champions. He holds a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences degree, is an author of scientific works, an inventor in gymnastics, and is an honorary citizen of the cities of Stavropol and Svetlograd.
