Yuriy Ivanovych Samoylenko (April 8, 1932 – December 11, 2008) was a Soviet and Ukrainian physicist, mathematician, and cybernetician. He was a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and had a wide range of scientific interests. His research involved plasma physics, computer science, mathematical modeling of physical processes, space research, ice physics, and bioelectromagnetism. He was the founder of physical cybernetics.
