Kim Seong-jin (November 18, 1931 – February 11, 2005) was a South Korean politician and former army brigadier general. He graduated from the 11th class of the Korea Military Academy, ranking first, alongside notable figures like Chun Doo-hwan and Roh Tae-woo. Kim earned a PhD in physics from the University of Illinois and a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Florida. He served as the Minister of Communications in 1983 and the Minister of Science and Technology in 1985. Unlike Chun and Roh, he did not join the 'Hana Association'.
