She began her activism with the Christian Women's Association and later became involved in politics as a member of the Democratic Party. Park played a crucial role in legislative reforms on family law, employment equality, and environmental policy. She served in various leadership roles, including the chairperson of the Ahn Cheol-soo Foundation before her passing in 2013.
