He was recognized as an Honored Cultural Worker of Azerbaijan two times and was a laureate of several prestigious awards including the Ali Media Award, the Golden Pen Award, and the Hasanbay Zardabi Award. Additionally, he was named an honorary auditor of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2011. Yaqubov passed away on October 15, 2022.
