Jardo Asadi Ozmanyian, born on May 2, 1929, in Armenia, was a Kurdish poet, writer, and translator, known popularly as Jardo Asadi. He graduated from the Yerevan Abovyan Pedagogical Institute in 1950 and first published his poetry in a school textbook in 1954. He later published his first poetry collection, 'Verses and Poems', in 1959. In 1975, he moved to Tbilisi and published the book 'Man, I Believe in You' in 1978. He founded the Kurdish theatrical troupe in Georgia in 1987. Ozmanyian worked on a translation of 'The Knight in the Panther's Skin' until his death in 1993.
