Martik Ashoti Gasparyan, born on October 24, 1948, in Stepanakert, was a commander and freedom fighter. He graduated from the Ashgabat Mechanical Engineering Technical School in 1979. In August 1988, he returned to Artsakh, participating in rallies and the self-defense of Haikavan village in the Hadrut region. From 1991 to 1993, he was involved in liberation battles in the Shushi, Askeran, and Martuni regions as a commander in the 53rd separate motorized rifle battalion. He served as the head of the military police department from 1993 to 1994 before being discharged in June 1994.
