Mkhitar Gevorgi Chilingaryan was an Armenian freedom fighter born on May 16, 1972, in Yerevan, Armenian SSR, USSR. He was a member of the 'White' rescue unit during 1988-1992 and participated in self-defense battles in the Ardvashen region. Notably, during the defense of Ardvashen, he and 11 other fighters prevented enemy attacks and safely evacuated 4,500 residents. Tragically, all 12 fighters were killed in this battle. He was posthumously awarded the 1st class Order of the Battle Cross and is buried in Yerablur.
