Spartak Saribekian Hovhannisyan was an Armenian biophysicist born on June 9, 1925, in Leninakan, Armenian SSR, USSR. He became a Doctor of Biological Sciences in 1968 and was promoted to Professor in 1970. In 1996, he was recognized as an academician of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences. Hovhannisyan is known for being one of the founders of molecular biophysics in Armenia. He passed away on January 8, 2008.
