Bazar Qabdoshuly Damitov, born on March 17, 1944, in Kökterek village, East Kazakhstan, is a scientist and candidate of physical and mathematical sciences. He graduated from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute in 1967 and the I. Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy in 1971. He has held various academic and administrative positions, including the rector of the Zhambyl Pedagogical Institute and deputy minister in Kazakhstan's education sector. Since March 2001, he has been the rector of West Kazakhstan State University and has authored several books on physics.
