Gennady Nikolayevich Babkin, born August 13, 1923, in Pavlodar, is a prominent Kazakh chemist. He earned his doctorate in chemical sciences in 1976 and became a professor in 1980, while also being recognized as a distinguished higher education worker of the Kazakh SSR in 1983. Babkin participated in World War II and completed his studies at KazMU (now KazNU) in 1950 and post-graduate studies at the Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences in 1957. His main scientific work focuses on electrochemistry, and he is credited with five inventions.
