Yuri Mikhailovich Stoiko, born on October 9, 1947, is a Soviet and Russian surgeon, who earned his Doctor of Medical Sciences in 1989 and became a professor in 1991. He has held several prominent positions, including Chief Surgeon of the Central Federal District of Russia since 2002 and Chief Surgeon at the National Medical and Surgical Center named after N.I. Pirogov. Stoiko also served as the head of the Surgery Department at the Military Medical Academy from 1998 to 2002, and he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation in 2000.
