Metropolitan Philotheos (born Markos Karamisos) was a prominent bishop of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. He served as the Metropolitan of Melos from 1971 until his death in 2017. Born on September 1, 1924, in Constantinople, he played a significant role in the Orthodox community until his passing on May 10, 2017, in Englewood, New Jersey.
