Metropolitan Photios was a Greek bishop of the Constantinople Orthodox Church, born Dimitrios Savvaidis on April 21, 1924, in Chalcidon, Istanbul, Turkey. He served as the Metropolitan of Heraklion and was an exarch of all Thrace and Macedonia. He was a respected elder in the church community and played a significant role in religious affairs until his passing on June 24, 2007. His contributions to the Orthodox faith and leadership were notable.
