Alyaksei Vasilevich Matsveyeu (born May 23, 1938, in Minsk) is a Belarusian geologist. He is an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, having become a full member in 1994 and a correspondent member in 1991. Matsveyeu earned a doctorate in geological and mineralogical sciences in 1977 and was appointed a professor in 1990. He was also recognized as a заслужаны дзеяч навукі Рэспублікі Беларусь (Honored Figure of Science of the Republic of Belarus) in 1998.
