Fereydoun Vardinejad (born June 5, 1956, in Boroujerd) is an Iranian military officer, journalist, and political activist. He became a member of the Islamic Revolutionary Organization and then the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He served as the head of the Irna news agency from 1992 to 2001, where he also founded the Faculty of News and several publications. Vardinejad was the Iranian ambassador to China from 2001 to 2005 and a media management professor at the University of Tehran until his retirement in 2010.
