Metropolitan Iakovos was a bishop of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople who served as the Metropolitan of the Princes' Islands from 2002 until his passing in 2018. Born Charalampos Sofroniadis on March 14, 1947, in Istanbul, Turkey, he was known for his ecclesiastical leadership and deep commitment to the Orthodox faith. He held the title of hyper-tim and was also an exarch of Propontis. He spent his life dedicated to the spiritual and pastoral needs of his community until his death on March 28, 2018.
