Ahmed Maksharipovich Kotiyev was a Russian law enforcement officer and Secretary of the Security Council of Ingushetia from 2011 until his death in 2013. He was born on January 20, 1960, in Inarki, Checheno-Ingush ASSR. Kotiyev was killed in an ambush on August 27, 2013. He was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation for his courage and heroism. His legacy is honored with a bust, a school named after him, and memorials in various locations in Ingushetia.
