Jura Azimbaevich Musayev was a Soviet and Uzbek biologist and geneticist, born on December 5, 1928, in the village of Yangiyul, Uzbek SSR. He earned a Doctor of Biological Sciences and became a professor in 1975. Musayev was also an academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. His contributions significantly impacted the fields of biology and genetics in Uzbekistan until his passing on October 24, 2014.
