Aleksei Ilyich Semivolos was a Soviet miner and pioneering driller in the iron ore industry, notable for being one of the first recognized as a 'thousander'. Born on March 17, 1912, in Kvitki, Kyiv Governorate, he made significant contributions to mining and was honored with the Stalin Prize in 1942. He served as a mountain director of the first rank and was a deputy in the Supreme Soviet of the USSR from 1946 to 1958. Semivolos was posthumously recognized as an honorary citizen of Kryvyi Rih in 1968 and passed away on February 24, 1986.
