Li Yazhou, born in December 1955 in Guojia Town, Kaixian County, Chongqing, is a major general in the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China. He graduated from both the Nanjing Engineering Engineering College in engineering machinery and the Xuzhou Command College in combined command. Li has held several prominent positions, including commander of the Yibin Military Division and chief of staff of the Sichuan Military District, and served as the deputy commander of the Sichuan Military District before being promoted to major general in July 2008.
