Yakov Israelievich Drobin (1905-1981) was a prominent Soviet Komsomol and party leader, known for his significant contributions and life experiences. He authored five memoirs, with his last book 'Chronicle of One Investigation' published in 2012. Drobin faced false accusations which led to nearly 20 years of exile and imprisonment. He was rehabilitated in 1956. Born in Odessa, he spent his final years in Gomel.
