एकनाथ दगडू आवाड (January 19, 1956 - May 25, 2015) was a prominent leader in the Dalit movement and served as the national president of the human rights campaign in India. Known by the name Jijau in the movement, he was born into a poor Matang community in Dukadegaon, Beed District. His family faced significant hardships, and although his father wanted him to follow in the family profession of potter, his mother's support enabled him to pursue education. He overcame challenges and dedicated his life to advocating for Dalit rights.
