Ruben Abgarovich Akopyan (1929–2017) was a Ukrainian scientist of Armenian descent. He earned a Doctor of Technical Sciences degree in 1971 and served as a professor at the Department of Automotive Engineering at Lviv Polytechnic National University. He was recognized as an Honored Rationalizer of the Ukrainian SSR in 1965 and Honored Inventor of the Ukrainian SSR in 1968. Akopyan was one of the developers of the pneumatic suspension for bus seats, which was implemented in LAZ buses.
