Petar Škondrić was a Yugoslav national hero and participant in the National Liberation Struggle. Born on March 17, 1913, he served in the Yugoslav Army and Air Force. During World War II, he organized a group of fighters in his village in July 1941 and led guerrilla actions against occupying forces. He commanded the Jelašnica Partisan Detachment and was known for successful operations before being fatally wounded on September 30, 1941. He was declared a national hero on July 26, 1945.
