Стоян Братоев Иванов is a Bulgarian engineer, born on January 19, 1954, in the village of Presiyan, Targovishte. He graduated in 1979 with a specialization in 'Tunnels and Metro' from the Transport Institute in Leningrad, after which he worked on the construction of the Sofia Metro. Between 1982 and 1985, he prepared and defended his doctoral dissertation in Leningrad. Since 1999, he has been the director of 'Metropolitan' EAD, the municipal enterprise managing the Sofia Metro. Additionally, he is a professor and adjunct lecturer at the Mining and Geology University.
