Leonid Grigory Petrosyan (October 13, 1930, Stepanakert, Azerbaijan SSR, USSR) was an Armenian Soviet geophysicist. He earned a Doctor of Geological and Mineral Sciences degree in 1979 and became a professor in 1981. Petrosyan graduated from the Baku Oil Chemistry Institute in 1953, subsequently working in various geological institutes and ministries focusing on nuclear geophysics and the study of oil and gas deposits. He was a member of the Communist Party since 1953 and received several prestigious awards throughout his career.
