Karen Armik Karakhanian (Kharapmanian) was an Armenian student and artilleryman, born on December 23, 1973, in Yerevan, USSR. He participated in the Nagorno-Karabakh War and was active in the battles for the self-defense of Kapan and the liberation of Fizuli. From 1990, he studied at the Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction. He was awarded the Medal of Courage posthumously for his contributions during the war, where he played a notable role in destroying enemy ammunition depots.
