He graduated from Yerevan State Medical University in 1983 and worked in various medical institutions including the Yerevan Pediatric Hospital and the Republican Burn Center. Zargaryan participated in providing medical care to wounded soldiers during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict from 1991 to 1994.
