Aram Shamshyan was an Armenian violinist and educator, born on April 18, 1925, in Leninakan, Armenian SSR, USSR. He was a professor by 1976 and was recognized as a Meritorious Artist of the Armenian SSR in 1965 and as a Meritorious Figure of Arts in 1974. Shamshyan contributed significantly to the field of music in Armenia until his passing on January 17, 2010.
