Tong Shangjing (1917-1972), also known as Tong Chang, was a Taiwanese pioneer in children's literature, born in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu. He served as the deputy editor of Taiwan New Life Newspaper and editor of its supplement. During the White Terror period in Taiwan, he assisted victims by submitting their stories, which ultimately led to his execution during the second major crackdown due to involvement in political support.
