Adam Konstantinovich Uropov was a Soviet and Russian geophysicist born on January 26, 1923, in Shaevka, Mogilev Region, Byelorussian SSR, and passed away on October 15, 2008, in Moscow. He served as dean of the geological faculty at Perm University from 1961 to 1962, was a chief consultant for the Minister of Geology of the GDR, and led a group of Soviet geophysicists in the GDR from 1966 to 1970. He was a prominent figure in establishing a scientific seismic school in Perm and a recognized expert in oil seismic exploration.
