Hakob Martakan Cholakyan, born on October 16, 1947, in Kesab, Syria, is an Armenian ethnographer, historian, and bibliologist. He received his PhD in historical sciences in 2002. Cholakyan is noted for his contributions to Armenian studies and has been awarded the Movses Khorenatsi Medal in 2011. His work focuses on the preservation and analysis of Armenian cultural heritage.
