James Gibb (March 7, 1918 – June 16, 2013) was a British pianist and music educator. A pupil of Mabel Lander, he played in the Unity Theatre orchestra in the late 1930s and served in WWII. Gibb resumed his career in 1949, premiering works with orchestras in Germany. He performed in Europe alongside notable conductors and collaborated with contemporary composers in England. He was head of the piano department at Guildhall School of Music from 1967 until 2002, and in 1990, he served on the jury of the Tchaikovsky International Competition.
