Oleksandr Yosypovych Shchehlov was a Ukrainian singer and the first performer of songs by composer Anatoliy Kos-Anatolsky. Born on April 12, 1920, in Kaniv, he graduated from music schools in Kyiv and Lviv. He performed in orchestras and taught at music institutions in Lviv. His repertoire included works by various composers. A notable recording in New York in the 1960s featured him under the pseudonym I. R. He passed away on January 2, 2014, and was largely forgotten until posthumous recognition of his contributions.
