Vasyl Vasylovych Karpenko (February 10, 1961 - January 17, 2015) was a Ukrainian Armed Forces lieutenant colonel and the deputy commander of the 10th Territorial Defense Battalion. He served with distinction during the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, leading the battalion in defending Ukraine's borders. Tragically, he lost his life in combat near Dokuchaievsk, protecting his driver during an ambush. His bravery earned him the posthumous Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi III degree. He is remembered for his dedication and sacrifice for his country.
