Na’im Abu al-Hums served as the Palestinian Minister of Education from 1996 to 2006. After resigning, he became Secretary-General of the Palestinian Cabinet in 2008 until his resignation in 2011. Subsequently, he returned to academia, becoming a lecturer at Birzeit University. In 2009, he was elected to the Palestinian Revolutionary Council during the sixth conference of Fatah held in Bethlehem, becoming a member of the council.
