Episcopos Vakhtang, originally named Giorgi Otari's son Liparteliani, was born on October 25, 1965, in Tbilisi. He has been the Bishop of the Nikortsminda Diocese since June 1, 2015. He graduated from the Tbilisi State Pedagogical University and was tonsured as a monk on December 13, 2008, taking the name Vakhtang. He was ordained as a deacon on March 8, 2009, and was later ordained as a priest on September 27 of the same year. He was elevated to archimandrite shortly thereafter.
