Elias Shaqar was born on October 26, 1951, in Hyderabad. He holds a Master of Arts in Political Science. In 1977, he moved to Karachi, where he worked as a reporter and analyst until 1988. He launched the daily 'Qaumai Akhbar' on October 5, 1998. He served as the convenor of the Sindh Regional Committee of APNS from 1999 to 2001 and was the Secretary General of CPNE from 1997 to 1998. He is currently a member of the APNS Management Committee and the convenor of the Sindh Committee.
