Alfred Armenaki Mkrtchyan was a vascular surgeon born on April 5, 1935, in Leninakan, Armenian SSR, USSR. He earned his Doctor of Medical Sciences in 1980 and became a professor in 1994. He was also elected a member of the Academy of Surgery of Armenia in 1995. Mkrtchyan was notable for his contributions to the field of vascular surgery and passed away on February 5, 2016.
