Hayk Arshaki Hayrapetyan (1928-2003) was an Armenian military historian, writer, and colonel. He earned his Candidate of Sciences degree in 1978 and his Doctor of Sciences in military sciences in 1990. A member of the Soviet Union's journalist and writers' unions since the 1960s, he received military training at several prestigious institutions, including the Yerevan Artillery School and the Tbilisi Mountain Artillery School, and graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Yerevan State University in 1962.
