Alexander Mikhailovich Ovyosnov (February 21, 1913 - December 15, 1972) was a Soviet botanist and Doctor of Biological Sciences. He served as the head of the Botany Laboratory at the Scientific Institute of Perm State University from 1945 to 1964 and was a professor in the Department of Morphology and Systematics of Plants. Ovyosnov is known as the pioneer and first researcher of the mountain meadows of the Ural Mountains and was a participant in the Great Patriotic War. He was the first to defend a doctoral dissertation at Perm State University in 1965.
