Vladimir Vasilyevich Kornakov (December 29, 1929 - March 10, 2015) was a Soviet prose writer and the people's writer of Buryatia. He joined the Union of Writers of the USSR in 1966. He was awarded the Republican Prize of the Buryat ASSR in the field of literature and art in 1984, and the Isai Kalashnikov Prize in 2006 for his novel 'Wild Field'.
