Olexandr Leonidovych Hornostayev (September 7, 1963 – June 20, 2016) was a soldier in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, participating in the war in eastern Ukraine with the 15th Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion 'Sumy', part of the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. He died from wounds sustained during a mortar shelling, during which another soldier, Andriy Suprunenko, also lost his life. He is survived by his mother, sister, and an adult son. He was buried in the Alley of Honorary Citizens at the central cemetery of Sumy.
