Dmytro Ponomarchuk (July 13, 1962 – March 12, 2021) was a public figure and journalist, actively involved in Ukraine’s national liberation struggle for independence and democratic governance. He served as the press secretary for Viacheslav Chornovil and directed the press center for presidential candidate Viktor Yanukovych. After surviving a serious car accident that killed Chornovil, Ponomarchuk established the Viacheslav Chornovil Foundation for Free Journalists on September 9, 1999. He was also a board member of the Ukrainian Media Club and the supervisory board of the Ukrainian Association of Parliamentary Journalists.
