Alexander Petrovich Botev (February 22, 1948 – September 20, 1992) was a Russian artist and a member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 1986. After graduating from the Far Eastern Institute of Arts in 1972, he moved to Altai. He lived in Barnaul and Kamne-na-Obi, teaching art while creating series of works during various trips across the country. Notable series include "People from the Kulundin Canal" and various landscapes, with many of his paintings now housed in the Altai State Art Museum.
