Arseniy Mefodievich Solev was a Soviet military doctor and captain in the medical service, born on January 3, 1940. He tragically died in an accident involving the submarine K-8 on April 9, 1970. Solev sacrificed his oxygen apparatus for an injured crew member who had undergone surgery. His bravery and selflessness were recognized posthumously when he was awarded the Order of the Red Star.
