Konstantin Leonidovich Drok (April 22, 1919 – May 22, 1996) was a Ukrainian poet born in Luhansk. He spent his childhood in Dnipropetrovsk, where his mother was a village teacher. Drok enlisted in the army at the start of World War II and completed his service in Berlin. He worked as a journalist after the war and was a member of the Union of Soviet Writers. His first poetry collection was published in 1948, and he also engaged in poetic translation and prose writing.
